Emergency Staff Change
September 13th, 2009 by R Myddleton in Staffing · No Comments
Unfortunately, it turns out that Ms. Kobayashi has snapped her Achille’s tendon. She had surgery on Sunday and is doing well. However, she will be in plaster for two months and won’t be able to go on the tour. She will, however, be lending us her phone, so the emergency number given at the meeting will remain the same.
Ms. Adele Di Virgilio, from the Niddrie Campus will be going instead of Ms. Kobayashi. Adele has lived in Japan for several years, has First Aid training and loves travel. It’s great that she is able to step in at the last moment like this.
If you’d like to send your commiserations to Ms. Kobayashi, you can email her. She is at home resting and will be checking her email.
A few last things

Presents
We forgot to mention it at the meeting. All students need to bring one or two small gifts for the Honjo students, to give to them on the day we visit. Small Australiana souvenirs like little koalas will do. You don’t need to spend a lot.
Homestay students will need more substantial gifts for their families.
Itinerary
The updated itinerary is on the website.
Booklet
In Japan, you will be given a booklet which will include the language and information from the preparation sessions, along with the itinerary. You don’t need to bring these with you. The booklet will have exercises. You need a pen and/or pencil.
If you get sick…
If you get sick in the next couple of weeks, please let Mary Donaldson know by email. If you’ve had a cold or something, we’d just like to know so we can keep an eye on it.
Remember
Get to the airport at 4:10. Bring your passport and both e-tickets. Don’t pack liquids in your hand luggage.
